The group’s leader called the operation the “greatest battle to end the last occupation on earth” and claimed that thousands of rocket rounds had been fired into the nation. When the operation began, Mohammad Deif, the military chief of Hamas, asked all Palestinians to take up arms on Hamas broadcast media.
As reported by Reuters, he declared that “today is the day of the greatest battle to end the last occupation on earth.”
He added that his group had fired 5,000 rockets into the nation.
In response to the incident, Israel entered emergency mode, and sirens were able to be heard across the country, including in Jerusalem. Security officials were called to an urgent meeting by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The new onslaught came two years after Israel attack and Hamas battled in a 10-day battle that resulted in a humanitarian crisis at the height of the coronavirus outbreak.
On Saturday, Israeli media reported that Israeli forces and Hamas militant organizations had engaged in gunfights. In the attack, a woman from Israel passed away.

Residents in Gaza reported reported battles along the border fence with Israel, as reported by Reuters. There was also the sound of rockets.
