In the Buxar district of Bihar, the North East Express derailed on Wednesday night close to the Raghunathpur railway station, resulting in four fatalities and seventy injuries, according to news agency PTI.
At 9:53 p.m., a Bihar Train Accident the North East Express, which was traveling from Delhi’s Anand Vihar Terminal to Guwahati’s Kamakhya Junction in Assam, derailed, killing six coaches. Television footage revealed that four coaches had jumped the rails and at least two AC 3 Tier coaches had fallen over.

Train 12506 was passing the main line at Raghunathpur Station. It is a train that travels from Anand Vihar Terminal to Kamakhya. According to the Railway Ministry, six coaches derailed.
On Wednesday at 7:40 a.m., the 23-coach train left the Anand Vihar station in Delhi to begin its roughly 33-hour journey to Kamakhya.

Four passengers perished in the collision, Buxar Superintendent of Police (SP) Manish Kumar informed news agency PTI. At least 70 passengers have been hurt, according to a Railway Police Force spokesman, and have been sent to nearby hospitals.
Victims with serious injuries were rushed to AIIMS, Patna. Medical personnel and ambulances hurried to the scene following the tragedy to begin relief efforts.

There have been at least 21 train diversions off the route, including the Rajdhani Express that runs between Delhi and Dibrugarh. The East Central Railway zone released a statement announcing the cancellation of two trains, namely the Kashi Patna Jan Shatabdi Express (15125) and the Patna Kashi Jan Shatabdi Express (15126).

The passengers of the derailing train will be transported to their destinations via alternative arrangements. Six buses and a makeshift railway called a scratch rake, were sent from Patna to guarantee passenger safety.

According to railway officials, the rake from Ara had been organized to help stranded passengers with their subsequent trips, according to railway officials. “Medical teams have been sent to the spot,” confirmed Deepak Kumar, Inspector, Railway Police Force, adding that nearby hospitals in Buxar town had been notified.

The railroads published the following passenger emergency helpline numbers: 9771449971 (Patna), 8905697493 (Danapur), 8306182542 (Ara), and 7759070004.

According to a railway official, war rooms have been set up to recover the coaches the coaches are recovered quickly, and rescue efforts are underway.
In addition, the event has resulted in the diversion of at least eighteen trains that are now running on the route, including the Rajdhani Express between Delhi and Dibrugarh.
